The teacher and student should agree on clearly stated learning goals that are stated in measurable terms. The objectives should include what state standards will be addressed through the course of study.
Specify what the student will actually be doing in order to accomplish the stated objectives.
The teacher should identify all of the instructional materials (texts, videos, online resources, periodicals, etc.) that will be required.
As specifically as possible, describe how often and for low long the teacher and student will interact over the course of the semester.
Describe the method(s) of evaluation that will be used in order to assess the degree to which the stated objectives have been mastered. When appropriate, attach a specific rubric that the teacher and the student have agreed upon for the evaluation.
